Seattle Aquarium
I've been to the Seattle Aquarium plenty of times before, as a kid. The Point Defiance Aquarium as well. It has been quite a long time, so I don't remember much. Though I really enjoyed the Wolf Eel, and I don't recall ever seeing it there before. The demonstrations and feeding events seem actually very helpful in understanding marine life as opposed to just viewing it. The Wolf Eel viewing was certainly my favorite part. When looking through the shorebird section, I feel like I got a little bit of a new perspective on the relationship birds have with the ocean. I can't say I really came up with a lot of questions while I was there, but one thing I was wondering is why I never see the same fish scuba diving around here as the ones they had at the aquarium. I've seen a lot of Perch, Ling Cod, Flounder, Cabezon, and a lot of Rockfish, but not the same ones as the ones we saw on our trip. Although they did have a few Ratfish, which I've seen in person on occasion. I would certainly like to see more wildlife in the future. For me, the aquarium is a good place to discover new species that I can look out for in the future. - Justin Kusar
Hi Justin I also thought that the wolf eel was super cool. Have you ever seen one of those while scuba diving? Also where do you scuba dive?
ReplyDeleteSeeing the wolf eel was pretty cool. I also like your last sentence about discovering new species. Also, what's the most aggressive fish or species that you've encountered while scuba diving?
ReplyDeleteInteresting post... I wonder why you do not see a lot of the same fish and organisms... perhaps because of the depth you are at?
