Lab 3 (Billy, Jack, Nona, Sahayra)
At the base of the food chain, the percentage of DDT that was ingested was really small. As we moved up the food pyramid, the parts per million of DDT ingested began to increase. By the time we reached the top of the food pyramid, the osprey had ingested all the DDT that was present in the animals on the lower levels of the food chain. In conclusion, the higher on the food chain you go, the higher the percentage of DDT you will ingest.
Based on the evidence we have collected in our experiment, our group believes that repealing the ban is detrimental to future populations of animals and people. We believe that no matter how much money the companies are making by lifting the ban that it is still not worth it do so we risk of wiping out endangered populations.
I think that we learned the same things in this lab, and while we didnt have the exact same numbers that you did for the ddt levels, our results were very similar. My group also said that we think it should be banned because of how big of a threat they can pose to animals.
