Seattle Aquarium Post

This was not my first time to the Seattle Aquarium. I have been a few times before our field trip but it was a couple of years ago. When I was younger I never really paid attention to the information that the aquarium has on the animals in the touch tanks. The booklets they had were extremely useful when I was answering the questions about animals. Learning about the unique ways they have adapted to survive in their environments was really cool. However, the most interesting thing at the aquarium were the mollusk's. The octopus was so cool, I was not expecting it to be stuck to the side of the tank and I thought it was amazing. There were also cuttlefish that were absolutely stunning.
Something new that I learned is that coastal birds are losing their habitats to land development and recreation activities. One question I have is are the tanks the fish kept in set at different pressures? What I mean is since some of these fish probably live 30-40 feet below the surface of the ocean how are their tanks designed to make sure it mimics their habitats perfectly.

Here are some cool pics.

  1. I also found the octopus to be really cool and fun to look at, i love your pictures, they look very well done, and i didnt even think about the changes in pressure that animals would need.... i wonder how they do that.
