Carkeek Park

This organism was a large Dungeness Crab we found in the low tide zone. It was moving around, probably looking for food. They eat clams, crustaceans, and small fish. The most interesting thing I saw I think would have to be a green pregnant shrimp. I've never seen a green shrimp before, and it was interesting to see one pregnant. This trip definitely made me more aware how much life can be so close to the shore. A question I have is, what invasive species have been or could be introduced to this ecosystem and what would it do to the organisms there?

  3. I also got to see some crabs hanging around, but smaller. You're lucky to have been able to observe a green pregnant shrimp! That might be a rare phenomenon!
