I saw the Red-tailed Hawk in the tidal wetlands and in the air above the wetlands. The Red-tailed Hawk seemed to be flying away from an attacking crow at one point in time. At another point in time, the Red-tailed Hawk dove into the wetlands in what looked like an attempt to disturb a pack of resting crows. I think the red-tailed Hawk's role in the wetland is being very high on the food chain and keeping many wetland specie populations at a healthy amount. The most interesting thing I learned on this trip to Spencer Island is that Spencer Island is divided into many parts, influencing the way that Spencer Island's water flows. Something I learned that changed my perspective on wetlands in the pacific Northwest is that at Spencer Island, there is a diversity of big birds such as eagles, hawks, and herons. A question that came up on my visit to Spencer Island was, in what ways have humans done construction on Spencer Island?
Nice observations! Your photos are not showing up- please fix them!
