Human impacts on Brackett's landing
For this assignment, I ended up going to Brackett's landing. This is the small beach next to the Ferry dock in Edmonds. I go there often, but I wanted to go specifically to see the impact of people on a busy day. On nice days, many people come here with their children to play in the sand or to go on a picnic. There wasn't a lot of trash on the shore, which was nice. This is the park I usually dive at and I know from experience that there is a lot of trash underwater. People like to go to the street and hit golf balls off into the water. The golf balls don't break down and I've helped retrieve about 10lbs of golf balls from the water near this park. There is also a lot of noise pollution between all the cars, ferry, and trains.
