Introduction - Jack Dennis

Hi guys, my names Jack Dennis. I took this class so I could get one more science credit for my direct transfer degree. I chose this class over the other science classes because it seemed really interesting. The ocean fascinates me and I didn't know very much about it so I hopefully by the end of this class I'll have a basic understanding of the ocean.

I'd like to learn about ecosystems and how they work. Specifically I'd like to learn about coral reefs and tropical ecosystems.

I'm currently working on my business transfer degree and hopefully I'll continue my studies at the foster school of business at UW. I am about halfway through my transfer degree and I think I'll have about 3 more quarters here at EDCC.

The only experience I have with marine systems is from watching the planet earth documentaries about the oceans. Most of the information will probably be new to me. I'm excited see what this class has to offer.

My favorite marine animal is the Killer whale. I just think they're really cool and powerful. Plus they're majestic and beautiful.

Something interesting about me is that I am a running start student. I'm actually a senior at Edmonds-Woodway High School. I'll be graduating in June and from there I'll be a full time student at EDCC.
