Seattle Aquarium Visit
I have been to the Seattle Aquarium before and although the Seattle Aquarium does mix things up so there is always something new, I’ve just happened to be there way more times than usual to notice anything surprisingly new. One thing I did notice is that they finally put several fish into the stream on the way to the river otters. We told that we would see more than just two fish in there someday and almost three years later it finally happened, yay! If anyone hasn’t been there in a couple of years you may have noticed the two new fur seals. After chewbacca passed away, these two new young fur seals were brought in. I remember very anxiously waiting for their arrival and after several complications came up we were finally able to welcome them. Chewy was probably my favorite marine mammal at the aquarium, he was a unique character and I loved watching him chill in the small pool in the corner. The most interesting thing I saw was what appeared to be a hermit crab with two small sea anemones on its back. Cutest thing ever! I didn’t learn anything that changed my perspective, it did however remind me just how delicate the ocean life is and that we need to protect it at all costs. I’ve always wondered if you can tell the age of a fish just by looking at it, and if so how? Also the gender, but I know that one varies by species and such.
That's a cool picture, I didn't see that crab but im glad you posted a picture of it. I wonder why the sea anemones decided the back of a crab was the best place to live?
ReplyDeleteHi Sahayra! The picture you took is so cute indeed! Unfortunately, I missed it! This is very unexpected! You make me wondering if there's a real symbiosis between those two organisms, or if the sea anemones represent a burden for the crab, and also, how long did it take for the sea anemones to implement on the back of this hermit.
ReplyDeleteWhere and what is your cute photo of? He/she looks like he/she should be on spongebob. ;)
