Field Trip to Shannon Point
I saw the sea cucumber in one of the tidepools, and it was swimming. In terms of ecology
I think that seacucumbers are usually scavengers, and they eat plankton and decaying organic
matter. The nudibranch was definitely one of the most interesting thing I saw. Going to the tidal
zone gave me a better realization of the fact that the tidal zone is a habitat to so many creatures.
One question that came up is what is it about human influence that keeps tidal zones from being
as populated as the one at Sharon Point?
