Human Impacts
Human Impacts at Edmonds Beach
Where I live is a huge human impact on the marine environment around us. A warf over the ocean, with children running around for half of the year. The landlord/owner of the camp does not recycle or take care to make sure the beaches stay clean. This is a storm drain from about two miles up the road which carries all of the water from around the area and the parking lot above our house into the ocean. Storm drains without any form of filtration bring garbage, oil, and dirt directly into the ocean killing organisms that live there. Eventually, the marine organisms will have diseases or deformities and eventually die off. Turning the water green and ridden with algae, and unsustainable for living.
